Automobiles in German City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers mentioned they were alerted by a individual who found a car in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police say initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the event," they added.

City officials said they were working "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the community for details.

A senior political figure stated the incident rendered him speechless and had to be solved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
